Most people do represent themselves. And those who represent themselves recover about 40% less than those with attorneys. As the attorney only gets 15% of the recovery, it is more cost-effective to get a 40% higher recovery and then provide just 15% of that to the lawyer. and it's 100% less nerve-wracking.
