For the purposes of this response I will assume that the place you fell is in California and that the fall is recent. Nearly any injury to an employee while about the business of his/her employer is covered by the Workers' Compensation laws of the State of Cal. In short, injured workers are entitled to all reasonably necessary medical services and compensation for time off work. If the injury is permenant in nature, the employee is entitled to life time medical (for the injury), compensation for the disability and possibly job retraining.

It is possible, in your situation, that you aren't covered by the Workers' Comp. Laws and therefore have a claim against the company or persons responsible for the dangerous condition that contributed to your injury. It is also possible that you are covered by Workers' Comp. and have a claim directly against the party responsible for your injury. More facts are needed to be known by me to advise you further.

My strong suggestion to you is to consult with a attorney specializing in Injury Law. All the top notch Injury Law Firms will provide you a free consultation, no fees until they collect for you and will advance all necessary costs of your case. You may have a Workers' case and a third party case.

Of course, my law firm, is interested in consulting with you on this matter. No matter how you handle this matter, get a professional legal consultation from a top notch firm as soon as possible.
