Legal Question in Workers Comp in California
One of the staff told management about it at approximately 9:00AM that the freezer was broken and water leaking. There was no signs posted indicating that there was a puddle of water or wet floor. I slipped and fell on the break room floor in front of the refrigerator. My accident happened about 6 weeks ago at approximately 1:30PM. I was told to go to the Urgent Care by HR. I asked my HR contact about my timecard regarding the physical therapies and doctor's appointments. I was told to use my PTO (Paid Time Off - Sick days, Personal days, & Vacation days) if I left early from work or to schedule my appointments before and/or after my shifts. Is it the company's responsibility to pay for my time loss? Or should I continue to use my PTO to cover the time loss when I go for my appointments?
