Legal Question in Workers Comp in California
I am going to start a non profit business, I am presently on workers compensation how would that interfer with w/c if I have my name on the business papers ? I would not be taking any pay.Would just be donating my time.

You do not say whether you are on TD or what. Doing a semi-sedentary job should have no effect because you still are not able to return to the duties you had when injured. The compensation carrier should have a right to offset anything you earn from your prior salary or TD benefits [if you receive no pay now but will be paid iln the future for what you do now they probably should also get a credit]. It would be best to call the claims adjuster and tell them what you are considering and filnd out their reaction, and then confilrm ilt in writing if t is positive.
