Legal Question in Workers Comp in California
I want to start a travel and leisure business with a partner. Are we required to have workman's compensation since we will be the only two running the business as equal partners? I tried reading California law section 3351 (f) but could not decipher it.

The good approach is to have your worker's comp policy folded into your general liability policy and exclude owners and directors, thus you will essentially have no comp coverage unless you hire an employee. In fact, you may not even be required to pay for comp insurance in such a case. However, new employees can be added if necessary. I suggest you speak to your liability carrier.
