i started to work for a vote registration company(provoteamerica.com)(http://www.revolutiond2d.com)..the guys outside starter bros. the guy who recruited me was not entitled to recruit ...but i didn't know this until i worked about 25 hours and used over 45 dollars in gas driving to different locations. i never signed anything to work for them but the guy who hired me said i could work commission or hourly which was $10 an hour. when i tried to contact another employee to get paid he said that was between me and the guy who recruited me. how can i get my money that i spent and hours i worked?

You probably have to go to the Labor Commissioner's Office and file a complaint. This is not a WC question. If it would appear to a reasonable person that the man who hired you had the power to hire, then the company is stuck with that. Did they know you were doing any work for them; then are are liable again. And they might be liable just because you did work that benefited them and whose results they used.
