Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

Temporarily Working from Outside the Office (Worker's Comp Coverage question)

I do technical phone support for a software company. I can work anywhere with a laptop and a phone. We have other employees who work from home in various states. I've asked permission to work from NC for a few months while my husband is in the country (he's in the USMC and will be deployed to Iraq again soon). I'll be back & forth between NC & CA over 5-6 months as my children are here and I'll come get them when school is out. I'm keeping my car, bank accounts, condo, utilities, etc ALL in CA. I feel I'll only be 'visiting' NC but my company thinks they will need Worker's Comp insurance for NC. Who is correct?
