Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

transferring from predesignated primary dr. to new primary

I am currently with a predesignated primary doctor who has delayed my proper diagnosis and treatment. I was referred by him to a pain management specialist who found injuries not previously found. I am considering transfering to the new doctor but am worried because his office is very WC related and the practice also does QME's.

Am I making a mistake by transferring my primary care to this doctor who seems to be a worker's comp doctor but is a better doctor? I do not have an attorney. At what point do I need one? There have been no disputes yet.

Thanks for your help.
