Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

ttd benefits

on 12/22/07 I was injured at applebees where I was a manager. On 12/23 I quit out of anger when i had a verbal fight with my now ex-boss. The next day I started a new job. A few days later I went to the dr. for my right knee injury (that had happend at work), and the dr. put me on a LOT of restrictions. My new employer saw my work restrictions and said he cannot accomodate my restrictions. So, I asked the work comp adjuster for temp benefits and she said that because I quit the job that I was injured at, (applebees), that she does not have to pay benefits for missing time at my current job!!

I was under the impression that since I cannot work due to my injury, which they admitted fully that they accept responsibility for, should'nt they pay me ttd benefits for? The adjuster called my old boss at applebees to see if they could have let me work with these restrictions and that idiot said sure, knowing that I don't work thereand that him saying yes to acomadating me with the restrictions, would end any chance of benefits for me, he did it out of anger only! What is the law on ttd benefits and second job benefits??? Thank you so much!!
