Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

unsure of claim

i injured myself originally playing basketball at the job site, while on the clock.I went to my own doctor in which he told me its just a bad sprain.the injury was to my left ankle which was swollen but went down with medication after a few days.i never filed for workers comp. during that time.i was still having problems with the ankle so i went back to my doctor we took x-rays and he told me he couldn't see a problem so i took it as that thinking it was nothing wrong and it will improve in time.6-7 months later i slipped at work and re-injured the same area at that point i filed for workers comp and went to the doctor and requested and mri.the mri result was that i had an ruptured achilles tendon.i then had surgery and after my final therapy session i was told my ankle will never be a 100% again.i then got a lawyer to make sure i would be compensated appropiately.my lawyer is not really communicating with me and i would like to if i still have a case due to the original injury was not work related but i was on the clock and coherced by a supervisor and other employees to play, because the doc my attorney sent me to said my injury was chronic and was initiated more from the original injury?
