I have been on W.C. for a year (lower back injury/cronic pain) job wants to terminate me unless I return to work I do not want to lose my job!! . Would returning back to work --no restrictions--prevent future treatment and possible surgury?

No. You are still entitled to receive all necessary future treatment, including surgery and a settlement for permanent disability. If you think that you are not ready to go back to work in full duty capacity, you can apply for SDI benefits for additional one year. But a doctor has to certify you for disability.
