Legal Question in Workers Comp in California
I work for a multi-billion company- a retail store to be more specific- and the air conditioner where I work is broken. It was 95 degrees in there yesterday, and I actually experienced symptoms of heat exhaustion. Not only that, but I have ezcema, which is worsened by excessive heat. The ezcema on my hand (which has been dormant for near a year now) has flared up due to the heat and looks as if it's been burned by some chemical, it is bright red, peeling, itchy, and blistered. They will not fix the AC until the end of July (it is currently May) and Central CA heat this time of year is horrible. Is there anything I can do to get them to speed up repairs on our AC? More specifically, are there any laws concerning poor working environments worsening health conditions? Or at the very least, can I even be compensated for the medical expenses I've had to pay to treat my hand?
