Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

I work in a office and my supervisor told me that becuase im not here legally my boss can let me go due to my immigration situation. please let me know if that's true.

Unless you are under a written contract of employment, you can be let go at any time for no stated reason, whether or not you are here legally or not. But if you are here illegally, then you should never had been hired and the employer is supposed to fire you immediately.
