Legal Question in Workers Comp in California
WorkComp appeals board hearing
Work comp appeal hearing set (mandatory), yet after finally contacting my attorney, he said I did not have to be there. Something does not ring true here. Can you give me any reasons he would tell me not to go? I asked him to put that in writing...Thank you.

There are many reasons why you need not appear. Many times I just want my clients to be available by telephone for their convenience (if it is unlikely that the case will settle).
continuance
Perhaps you are too suspicious. It may be that your attorney knows the case will be continued to another date for whatever reason. In such an instance, having you come to the WCAB would be a waste of your time. Who filed the DOR and set the MSC?
