Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

Workers Comp for 1 day Filming?

Hi -- My production company will be doing a shoot in Los Angeles for one day, and I am wondering if we need to obtain worker's comp insurance for this. We have it for our office employees, but do we also need it for anyone we hire for the one day shoot as well? Also, is there some law (california/federal) that you can point to about this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Will these be crew or actors, i.e., extras. If extras review AFTRA colletive bargaining agreement if crew, be sure to properly hire them as indpendent contractors. Contact me directly.
