Legal Question in Workers Comp in California
workers comp./ hurt back/ Brivic
I have rehurt my back by truckdriver training class, am I to file a claim?Over 40 years in carpentry. From apprentice to exec. Superintendent , running 23Million dollar projects.
There are many skills in that 40 year span.
After back surgery last year the doctor said , no more physical carpentry
The Industry is in a slump and after 5 months of sending off resumes for project supervision, and getting no where the doctor sent me to rehab and said that they would retrain me for a different job. I took a battery of tests ,and saw The Rehab officer once a week and kept trying to find work, somewhere.
It came to pass that I should try a driving job and was sent to Robbie Williams Truck Driving Academy,
The first week of study was rules of the road and truck theory. I was sent to the Doctor to have a physical and drugtest. I then went and took the 1.5hour test; passing with an A.
The next Monday we were introduced to the semi trailers etc. Backing and jackknifing and parralell parking . All of this was hard on my left leg and left shoulder.
On Tuesday I was too tired and exhausted from clutching and the pain in lower back was increasing
Wed I gave up. it hurt too much.
Can I see a doctor under workers compensation??

Your facts are not very clear. If you were in a work-related training by your employer and you re-injured yourself, your injury is covered under worker's compensation laws. Call us at 213.388.7070 with more details.
