Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

I was employed by a nursing home about 10 yrs ago.Job included heavy lifting I was injured by spraining my neck filled out a incident form, seen a doctor,I was cleared by the Dr. to return to work and very anxious to return,I did even with the pain.I have noticed that I'm often in pain and cannot do alot before the pain returns even to carry my purse on my shoulder for an extended period of time causes pain.Is it too late to do something about this I'm angry that I now have to live with this.I have been to Dr's recently and am told it's stress no x-rays ever taken
