workers compensation for a 2002 injury
My brother sufferred from Valley fever in 2002 and he caught it while working for a company on a constructionn work site, he is still experiencing problems from it including ability to work full time at the same level he was working. Is there a claim here against the company he woked for because they kept trying to keep him from filing and he ended up having to file through medi-cal to pay for the hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical treatment he received.

Re: workers compensation for a 2002 injury
I assume that he formally notified his supervisor of the situation, including that he felt it was on the job. He needs to retain a Workers' Compensation attorney where he lives as he is not going to be able to handle getting a Dr. to say it is work related, fight the employer on the basis that it is barred by the one year statute, deal with medi-cal, etc. The attorney gets a set percentage of the amount of permanent disability awarded [9-12%].
