Legal Question in Workers Comp in California
I've been working as a mechanic for 2 1/2 years, for a company in California. 11 months ago I had a work related accident,
and broke my hand. My Hand was in a cast, and for six of weeks I performed a light work around the shop. After the cast came
off, I transition back to my normal work routine. After a few months I started to realize that my broken hand had not fully
recovered. I spoke to the supervisor and explained my broken hand was interfering with the work that I did. I asked if there
was a different position that I could move to, as this was a start-up the company, and it was growing. My supervisor told me
that there was no other work available. I continued doing the same job for six months, until I once again explained to him that
my injury was worsening. Again I was told that there was no other positions available. I have not yet filed for workers comp,
but I am considering talking to a doctor about writing a letter to my place of work, in regards to my permanent partial disability.
Do I still have a valid case even though I've waited so long?

You have a valid case. You need to be referred to a worker's compensation doctor and get a work status report that describes your restrictions and if your employer can't accommodate your restriction to put you on disability until you can return to work full duty. You really need a professional attorney to help you. Feel free to call me at 213-388-7070 for a free consultation.
