Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

Workmans comp or not

I was hurt at work and went to my manager to ask her if it was work related, she asked me what I was doing, I told her walking. She said that it was not a workmans comp injury. Went to dr. have since found out I have torn miniscus in knee. I was on the clock, Is it a workmans comp claim and should I have filed one. Also it happened on Jan 19 and have seen my dr. for it. Any suggestions what I should do since my insurance does not cover surgery since Dr. says that is what I need?

Re: Workmans comp or not

If your injury happened while you were working, you have a worker's compensation claim. Your question is not clear. Were you walking to or from work? If as a part of your job during your normal working hours you are required to walk to different location, any resulting injury such as slip & Fall, car accident (hit by a car)and etc. considered to be work-related injury and covered under worker's Compensation laws.
