Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

workman's comp injury

Everyone in my company has had workman's comp claims and seen the doctor/physical therapist during work hours. Now they tell me I have to take the time for my appointments/therapy off my sick leave. Is this true? I have family who I need to use that time for and I would just as soon not go.
