Can my boss make me use my sick leave when I have filed a claim?

No. You need a doctor to certify you for your disability and if the doctor determine that you should go on disability, he or she would take you off work and would apply for TD (temporary disability) either through state disability or directly through the worker's comp insurance carrier.
