Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

Wrokers comp

I am a teacher. I work with kids with special needs. About a month ago a student of mine threw sand in my face. I reported it to the school and they gave me the paper work to fill out for workers comp. It's been a month and I have not seen a doctor for my eyes yet. But my eyes do feel like there is still something still in it. Can I take time off work since my eyes are burning and my job requires me to drive? Or does doctor have to make that decision? What if something did happen to my eyes?

How is it possible that you would wait one month to see a doctor after you had sand thrown into your eyes, and remain symptomatic?

Anyway, you need to get yourself to an ophthamologist ASAP and stop waiting for the school to send you to a doctor! It is important for you to know that since your employer failed to send you to a doctor, you can self procure your medical treatment. But, before you do, it is best to call my office for a free consultation since there are many issues involved with workers' compensation. My telephone number is, 1.877.505.INJURY.
