how do i Know if a lawyer overseas is real?

This lawyer from overseas has contacted me and I am not sure if he is really a lawyer and I need to know what to ask for that cannot be faked.

Check to see if he is listed in the country about which you are interested. Compare the address and telephone number, and then call him back. The lawyer [or solicitor or barrister] depending upon the country, may not be listed. However, most active lawyers will be listed. This is a good start for answering your question.
