Legal Question in Business Law in Canada
Cross-border ecommerce
I'm a canadian based freelance worker (self own small business) selling my services through my website. Given I dont have a working permit in the U--name removed--can I still sell my services to american customers or businesses ? What does NAFTA or the american government say about this ? Is it legal ?

Re: Cross-border ecommerce
I have not researched this issue. However, if you are performing the services in Canada and a license is not required in the USA and/or the particular state where your customer is located, it is probably legal. It is possible there is something in NAFTA, U.S. federal law, the law of the particular state where customer is located Canadian federal law and/or Canadian provincial law governing your situation. If it is not legal, your greatest risk is probably not getting paid by your customer.
