getting paid

how can one get paid for a car or have the car returned other then putting someone in collections,when the person that has the car refuses to pay

In British Columbia you must either:

(a) seize the car and sell it. To do so you must hire a licenced Bailiff or lawyer who will guide you through the process; you ought not to just seize the car yourself; or

(b) sue the debtor; in Small Claims Court if the amoung owing is less than $25,000 or in Supreme Court of B.C. if it is greater. If more than 2/3 has been paid you my not seize but must sue
