Legal Question in Criminal Law in Canada
Discrimination
My wife and her niece are filipino.Basically they forgot they had an item while leaving store.A store were regular customers at.They were seperated and their bags were searched outside of there presence. One man went through a bag while my wifes niece was getting her wallet. They were told to be quiet, and threatened with jail and prosecution if they didnt do what they were told. When asked if they understood some papers they were given, the girls said no and werent given an explanation. The girls signed the papers out of fear. One was a year ban,and the other was something about paying damage. The girls had bought a seventy dollar watch the same day,and were treated like criminals over a fourteen dollar ring.Is there any recourse other then writing a letter to head office?
