Can someone get fooled in to crossing the us border ?

Can someone get fooled in to crossing the us border ?

My father received a call from a lawyer in the us. Asking him to show up at the us border and someone will pick him up and assist him in crossing (because he's no allowed to due to a criminal charge) and make him show up in front of a judge and plead guilty to a misdemeanor and pay a fine and his name is cleared ?

This is fishy. If the lawyer is really a lawyer and is going to represent your father, it would be unethical to make an unsolicited contact. More than likely, it is the police who want to arrest your father, and it is probably for a more serious charge than they are saying.

Your father should contact a criminal defence lawyer in the place where the charge is outstanding, or contact a criminal lawyer in the city or town where he lives.
