Legal Question in Family Law in Canada

access

I have sole custody of my 6 year old son. My ex has access every second weekend. He has moved and refuses to provide me with his address or phone number. Do I have to send my son or can I deny access until he gives me the information

Re: access

We assume you have custody pursuant to a Court Order and not pursuant to an informal agreement or by default. In that case you can not disobey the Court order or you will be in contempt of court and liable to punishment. You should ask the Copurt for directions as to what to do; that is ask the Court for an Order that suspends access and/or requires your ex-husband to provide his address and phone number. He will then have a chance to explain to the Court why he refuses and the Court can then adjudicate whether or not he must ive this information to you. You can not simply disobey the Order.
