Legal Question in Family Law in Canada
adoption
The mother of my child wants to put the child up for adoption. I told her I want the child then and she said I have no rights to the child. Is that true?

Re: adoption
In British Columbia this is not true; you very definitely have rights and very importantly your child has the right to know you. You should seek the advice of a lawyer immediately, as you have a strong claim to custody. Much depends on your personal circumstances and abilities to raise a child, but a lawyer will be able to advise you.
