Bank account

Hi I am currently in the process of separating from my husband. We are still in the house until it sells, he keeps spending all our money. Can I open an account and keep my money separate without his knowledge? He has an extreme drinking problem and money just goes like water thru his hands.

Yes, you certainly may open a separate, secret, bank account, and that is a smart thing to do. You will at some point have to reveal the existence of the account, but you should not let that worry you now.
