How far back can the courts go for backpay of child support if the matter was adjourned indefinately??

In British columbia, the order for retroactive child support can be back to the date child support was first requested, normally by giving you notice in a Writ of Summons and/or a Notice of Motion requesting child support, but there are exceptions, which are dependant on the particular circumstances of each case. You should consult a B.C. lawyer experienced in family law.
