Legal Question in Family Law in Canada

I was in a relationship for 6 years, no children involved. My question is what amount of money would I receive, since I left most everything behind.

This question was directed to a British Columbia law firm, and as noted on the LawGuru website must be answered with respect to the law in British columbia. The law varies from Province to Province and may not be the same in Provinces other than B.C.

You may or may not be entitled to any spousal support; it depends on the income of both parties, whether one or the other or both gave up a career or earning opportunity for the sake of the relationship, whether or not one made promises of support to the other, and a number of other factors. This question can only be answered by a lawyer with all of the facts.
