Legal Question in Family Law in Canada
my daughter
I live in bc my ex lives with my daughter in Sask. My daughter was born in Alberta. My ex moved to sask and filed for sole custody and was awarded interm. I have lived in BC for 3 years now and previously had a lawyer in sask, that didn't help me. I would like to file from BC as this is where I am a perment resident with a perment job. Do I have to file with sask or can I file where I live?

Re: my daughter
You must make application for a change in custody in Saskatchewan, because that is the Province with which your daughter is most closely connected. This assumes that the child is no old enough to express her own wishes (generally around age 14 or older, but there is no fixed rule).
