Legal Question in Family Law in Canada

Divorce in the US

I was married in Canada but am now separated. My ex-wife is a US citizen and has returned to the states. She is going to file for divorce there. Will it be a legal divorce in Canada?

Yes. Assuming she meets the residency requirements of the U.S. jrisdiction, then a divorce Order made there will be recognized in British Columbia. (Please note that, as stated on the LawGuru website, questions will be answered only as they pertain to B.C.)
