Legal Question in Family Law in Canada

Divorce process

Time frame for a divorce settlement

Is there any way that my spouse can force me to progress with the divorce proceedings faster than I want to settle? I am in no hurry as I am living in the matrimonial home at present, receive child support and receive an adequate wage at my full-time job. I've heard that a divorce will proceed as quickly/slowly as I want it to.... is that still true?

Re: Divorce process

In British Columbia, yes she can speed things up. In B.C. you can not make it proceed as slowly as you want it to.
