Legal Question in Family Law in Canada
Hello,
In common-law seperation, does it matter who ends the relationship? If the partner with fewer assets ends the relationship, does this mean they are not able to apply for spousal support, etc?
Thanks!

In British Columbia it does not matter who ended the relationship. As long as you fit the definition of spouse under the BC Family Relations Act, they can apply for spousal support provided they can prove the other requirements for support.
