Legal Question in Family Law in Canada

My husband and I have been married for a year and his ex-wife is threatening to take us to court because I own my own business and she believes that she is entitled to more money. We have no joint bank accounts, things are either in my name or my husband. Our home is in my name as well. Can his ex wife come after me even though my husband pays the amount according to the guidlelines?

You mention that she is threatening to take your husand back for more money even though he is paying under the 'guidelines". We presume you mena the child support guidelines because they are the only guidelines that are legally mandatory in British Columbia. The answer is that if he is paying the guideline amount (basic child support plus a proportionate share of expenses), she can not obtain more in British Columbia.
