Legal Question in Family Law in

My husband and I are recently separated (3 months). He is in real estate and I agreed to loan him my car for a few months. I found out he has racked up $700 in parking tickets using my car and also continues to drive on his Australian license though he is a resident. This means he is uninsured. How do I approach this.

You should immediately get your car back; if he won't voluntarily part with it (and we assume it is registered in your name alone), thego with a tow truck and take it. We advise you call the police first and have them attend so as to avoid a beach of the peace. As to the tickets, they are yours. They are the responsibility of the owner and if he won't pay them, you must. However, you can sue him for them in small claims court or, assuming you have started or soon will start divorce proceedings, ask the court for an order paying you back for the tickets. Also, you should inform ICBC in writing that he is driving unlawfully, and give them the details. You do not want to be the recipient of a judgment that can be collected against his and your joint assets. Please cal a lawyer that deals in family law as soon as possible.
