Re: How to become an independent minor

There is no such thing as an "independent minor in Canada"; the law in all of the Provinces and Territories varies as to what age a person is an adult, and in some Provinces/Territories there is a provision in the law for a person unde the age of majority to petition the Court for an order that they have the rights and responsibilities of an adult. The law varies from Province to Province because this is a Provincial respopnsibility under the Constitution. The questioner did not say what connection she has to British columbia, and as this question was directed to a law firm in B.C., it can not be answered further.
