legal adoption in india

i am a canadian citizen i got married to a hindu unmarried single mother in 2002 in a hindu marriage ceremony in india..her son in 9 years old now.. what i want to know is that do i have to legally adopt my stepson in india to be his legal step father what does the hindu law say about such marriages was my marriage legal according to the hindu act ..if i have to adopt my step son ....the address of a lawyer in mumbai who can do this for me

You have to consult a lawyer in INDIA, not a lawyer in Canada or the United States.
