Legal Question in Family Law in Canada

Is it possible to get a legal document stating that in the event of accidental pregnancy (consented intercourse with contraceptives used), should the mother not want an abortion; you (as the paternal father), not be required to pay for child support.

Would it have to be written by a lawyer, or could you write it yourself?

No it is not; even if the mothr and father signed such a document it would not be upheld. Child support is the right of the child and not of the parent. Neithr parent has the legal ability to decide not to pay child support; if one parent tries to do so, the child may later go to curt and ask for back support; the government may exercise the child's right to obtain a court order for support; in many cases almost any other person can also do so. In short, if a child is born the father will have to pay child support. Period.
