Liability re child support

Is a second wife responsible for the child support of the husband's children from a first marriage

If the child lives with the father and his children in a blended household, then common sense tells us that both parents are responsible.

If the father and the 2nd wife are separated, and if the 2nd wife has contributed to the support of the husband's children (before separation) for not less than one year, she is a "parent" under British Columbia law and is responsible for support of the children.

Contribution of support can take the form of money, general care & guidance, mentorship, household duties, educational assistance (including with homework), religious guidance, and more, or a combination of them.
