As noted on the LawGuru website, this question must be answered with reference to British Columbia law. In BC there is no rule as the parties have to set their own parameters when making an agreement. We presume that there is a separatin agreement which deals with selling the house and it should set out the parameters. If there is no separation agreement, then there is no way to compel anything to happen other than proceeding to the Supreme Court of British Columbia.
