Re: i want to set aside a protection order against my childs farther

The protection Order is in place to protect you; you must ask yourself if his behaviour is likely to change when he is released from jail. In the vast majority of cases behaviours do not change; you are likely to remain in need of protection. If you have children it is very possible that Ministry for Children and Families will be involved (if they are not already) and if he is perceived to be a danger, your children may be apprehended. Your duty is first to safeguard your children and your second duty is to safeguard yourself. You must ask yourself why you are attracted to someone who is so abusive you need protection; please get counselling from a Registered Clinical Counsellor, a Psychologist, or your local Stop The Violence Counsellor at your local British Columbia Womens'Transition House BEFORE making any decisions.
