Legal Question in Family Law in Canada

shared joint custody

My wife and I are divorced since 2003. I live in B.C. now because of my job and she lives in AB. I pay her child support for our 2 boys. On the divorce papers it says that we have shared joint custody of our children. Now she found out that I got engaged and she's mad and will not let me speak to the children on the phone and won't let them phone me so I want to know what I have to do to reconnect with the boys.

Re: shared joint custody

We assume that you exercised joint custody in Alberta and then you moved, rather than the other way around. If that is the case, you will have to obtain the services of an Alberta lawyer and and ask the Courts of Alberta to enforce the joint custody order.
