Legal Question in Family Law in Canada

my son turned 20 on sept 3rd 2009 i havent seen him since he was 1, i sighned away my rights at that time, the court issued me to pay $20 a week, he is now in his second year university, and has his step dads name as of 15 years ago, how can i get out of paying child support, please help

In BC you can not "sign away" rights unless by that you mean that the child was adopted by someone else and your parental ties were terminated; if that is what you meant, then you are not obligated t pay support. If however you mean you somply allowed the other party to have custody, then in BC you must pay child support until the child is no longer dependant - but you may make application to vary your obligations. In order to do so please consult a lawyer as the subject is far too complex to be dealt with in LawGuru.
