Legal Question in Family Law in Canada

Spousal support

I got married May 15, 2005. My husband worked full-time until December 2006, and then went on unemploment (EI). He went to school (paid for by EI) and continued to be on EI until and after we separated August 4, 2007. During this time, starting May 2005 to Feburary 2006 i was in school (paid for by a government student loan). My 2005 income was virtually nothing, my 2006 income was $9984 , 2007 income was aprox. $15, 000, 2008 income was 28,000. Do i qualify for spousal support? And if not, would my husband?

Re: Spousal support

This questioner has not given enough information so the question can not be answered; the gross and net incomes of both parties are required, as are details of whether or not thye have children together or either has children from a previous relationship and if so with who do they live and what are the child support and access arrrangements. Information as to the assets of the parties and any health problems must also be known. This is too complex a subject for LawGuru and the quesitoner should consult a lawyer.
