Legal Question in Family Law in Canada

Spouse harassment

Hello! My ex wife constantly calls or emails me to ask questions she could easily ask when we see each other every two weeks when I pick up or drop off the kids. Usually, these conversations end in arguments. Recently, due to the amount of stress these discussions were creating, I told her I wanted no further contact other than when we see each other every two weeks. She is not respecting this request, and continues to email or call, or have the children call on her behalf (she puts them in the middle). If I don't reply, the calls/voice messages become progressively angrier until I finally respond. I am finding her behaviour very inappropriate, it is causing me an enormous amount of stress, and I also fee very harassed by her constant, uninvited communications. What can I do to make this stop, I have asked her to leave me alone, but still it continues. Can I place a harassment order against her? What are my options? Thanks for any help you can give me!

Re: Spouse harassment

This answer is specific to British Columbia; the law varies widely from Province to Province.

The most important concern here is the effect tis is having on the children; I recommend obtainign a report from a psychologist on the effect of her bahaviour on the children.

I would use the report, if it shows negative effects ont he children, in support of an application for an Order restricting her contact with you and the children.
