Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Canada
I recently registered a new business about 3 months ago. My business name was approved and since I've been operating under this name and had a logo designed. Last week I found out there's another company, with a similar name, a similar logo and they offer very similar services. The first 6 letters of our company names are the same. My company name has 8 letters and their company name has 10 letters. They also have a trademark on their company name. My question is, can they take any legal action against me? I'm not trying to be them or anything as I just found out they exist. Thank you.

HI,
Although it is impossible to provide you with an answer without knowing the exact facts, they are likely to have a recourse against you for trademark infringement. You should consult a lawyer.
Good luck,
Robert
